Badminton Championship - Congratulations to all of our Intermediate team members who played in the City Zone Championships on Wednesday. Special acknowledgement to Elizabeth Weinberg from 9-5 and Will MacFarland from 9-6 who finished 4th overall in mixed doubles. Also, congratulations to Ethan Burgess from 9-7, and Sebastian Hum from 9-5, who finished in 7th place out of 21 teams. Great job!

 

Badminton Practice – There will be a practice today during lunch for junior and intermediate mix teams.

 

Pi Contest – Mr. Drake will be hosting his annual Pi contest at lunch time today for all those that have been practicing!

 

GSA - there will be a meeting today during the first half of lunch (from 11:15 till 11:45) in Mx. Kloppenburg’s room # 208. All are welcome to attend.

 

Math problem of the Week - Last week we received four amazing solutions to the Problem of the Week titled "Keep the Average"! We will be awarding a prize to all students as they were all well thought out and explained. Congratulations to Shailee (71), Aadhira (81), Fatma and Loresa from grade 6, and one mystery student with no name. Come see Ms. Arbique at lunch time today.  A new problem is posted and students from all grades are encouraged to participate.

 

Culture Club – There will be a meeting on Monday for all member as well as any students who would like to help plan a celebration for Eid. Please come on Monday at the start of lunch to Miss Arbique's room # 106 to meet with Ms. Nisrine and Ms. Sarah.

 

Headstrong/Film Club – There will be a meeting on Monday during lunch time in in Mme. Genge’s room # 246.

 

Food Drive – This is the last call to bring non-perishable food to help support Feed Nova Scotia. Deadline is today.

 

Climate Challenge Contest – There will be a climate challenge contest. This is your chance to win $2,500! The idea is to create a PSA, a video, a song, a poem, a poster, or anything else you think will get the message across to promote climate change in underserved and underrepresented communities.
